Still more to come. But make sure you come back to check out this adventure.... first test are beyond fun and again the astonishment factor is overwhelming. The Mark III really is a guarantee for loads of fun.
Click on the right most image, this will show a few close-ups of the door after it got hit by a tennis ball.
In the meanwhile I have been able to test this cannon extensively. The first test, which resulted in a damaged door, was just the tip of the iceberg. I’m certain that if I shot on the door in the same situation, but with the right amount of hairspray, this door would be in for a much lager repair job.
Right now I making a few modifications on the ignition system which will enable me to fire the cannon form a save distance. Why? Simple, now I’m in one piece, after the modifications I will start experimenting with better fuels, for bigger bangs. If one of the bangs blows up my cannon, I very much would like to be able to build a new one.
On New Years Eve we have tested the new remote ignition system. I took me a few evenings to get the ignition system working, but it finally works like a charm. If you would like to know how to build an ignition system based upon a cars ignition coil, go to the ignition systems section. If you would like to see the cannon in action one New Years Eve, then click here.

BTW: Does anybody know someone who would like to sponsor tennis balls?
